Dr Shoba Selvanathan is an independent clinician providing services to patients from MyPaeds Specialist Clinic.
Dr Shoba Selvanathan is an experienced and dedicated paediatrician who provides comprehensive care for children. She manages a wide range of paediatric and neurodevelopmental conditions. She focuses on holistic health including physical, emotional and social development.
Dr Shoba completed her paediatric training in Singapore. She obtained her Master of Medicine in Paediatrics from the National University of Singapore and became a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (United Kingdom). She was a consultant paediatrician in Singapore from 2017 before she relocated to Australia. She obtained her Fellowship in Paediatrics and Child Health with The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and has practiced as a consultant paediatrician in the hospital and community settings in Australia.
Besides clinical work, Dr Shoba was part of the teaching faculty in Singapore and has collaborated on community programs promoting child health. She has received several awards in Singapore including a Singapore Health Quality Service Award (Silver), Patient Safety Award, Service from the Heart Award and a COVID-19 Resilience Medal. She was involved in teaching junior doctors while working as a consultant at Alice Springs Hospital in the NT.
Dr Shoba has an approachable demeanour and provides a safe space for children and their families to discuss their health concerns. She practices evidence-based medicine and provides excellent medical care with compassion. She has experience managing families from different cultural backgrounds. She converses in English and Tamil.
When she is not at work, Dr Shoba enjoys spending time with her family especially her two children, exploring the outdoors and running. She loves baking and travel.
